First Meeting – Group for the Healing Arts Foundation

"Thank you for been here. Is nice we are few today. Hopefully this will be the first meeting and hopefully is not going to be the first meeting.This Idea started actually spontaneously from a Friend. He asked me to treat somebody. I’m CMT – Certified Massage Therapist- and he sent me money to help somebody. I started to treat this person. This was 3 years ago. During the last 14 years always is happening somebody offers a gift to somebody and is interesting because the person who pays generally is quite sick and give money to treat somebody else and don’t get a treatment for himself. Is a kind of mystery, people like to help others but don’t help themselves. We have many people here around Oregon House that likes Holistic Medicine, Alternative Medicine, and Preventive Medicine. We tried to use many ways to bill insurance companies (Medical, Medicare) nothing works really. Insurance don’t want to pay this kind of services and myself –like holistic health practitioner- people comes and ask for my service and I can’t say no. and the last 14 years I tried to afford that as much as I can. The Idea is coming from a need of have sources for people that doesn’t have any possibility to pay a good insurance o pay privately care and can use alternative medicine and also they can’t get education in alternative medicine. When we use the name Healing Arts Foundation is because we consider holistic medicine a form of art and science  at the same time. But the other arts like theatre or poetry they are part of the healing arts grass and we consider all the arts like a healing tool. For this reason we use this name and we are going to have under our umbrella different ways to educate people in different arts –including healing arts- based on the believe that health, healing and prevention is education. I try myself for many years to work with this philosophy and resist a lot to the request of people “fix me today” and “take my pain away” but rather educate them and is a hard work to try to share the understanding that pain have a meaning, illness have a meaning, and is actually a honor to understand that you can use the possibility of self-regeneration and regenerate yourself and learn how to prevent illness and how to use pain to become more wise and more intelligent which is another philosophy. We consider an intelligent man that that is happy. If is not happy is not intelligent for us – or at least for me, and this request health and request education. This is a simple base for us. We simplify our work. We have two simple principals: first serve and second have fun. And that is way we do what we do. And now that I talk to you I realize how many people can have the same dream or the same vision. How many people they work on holistic medicine or healing arts and how many people use healing arts and how bigger healing arts became. This is a responsibility for people that understands healing arts. We use it and we are using them in the present. And the responsibility is quite big because is work. And we see around people suffering a lot for lock of information basically and because they don’t have options. Or from education or from information more or less the choice always is one in different ways.The other aim of the foundation is to provide people another choice in relationship with information and education: another point of view that is the Holistic Method. The Holistic Method has its own philosophy and its own point of view on how things they are organized and how things works in relationship with everything, and is ruled for simple laws. Nature works a lot under these rules. We want to share this information and also we want to share out experience – which in my case is for the last 25 years- and is not only information but is also a direct experience how you can transform illness in health or how you can transform weakness in talent. Yoga, Theatre, different arts produce different way of grab or different ways to develop human the potential of the human being in relationship with evolution. All of them have the same aim. In different scales with different motors but more or less everybody we want to have a better life. And I think is worthy to help each other for achieving these things. For be more practical, now we are in the real world were they request to us a legal organization or they request to me a legal organization and I started to call people around and share the idea and this meeting is basically for us help to do that, to promote the idea, to see if we can keep meetings and keep working on this direction. And the first work is really simple is only to attract friends they are friends of healing arts and then things are going to happen organically.

I would like to have a property for the physical work of the foundation. Only is going to happen if a group of people like the idea and they think is needed, to activate the common sense.

The foundation also will need to develop different areas in the area of searching: everyday we have discovered new herbs new vegetables new food and everyday we also discover bad food and more poison and more damage in the nature, in relationship with our own survival. The foundation also wants to have funds for that. For try to keep upgrade on how we can keep our sources or get the best sources for us. We are planning to have organic growth. There are many organic growth around in the community and we are trying to organize ourselves too with them and in our case – right now- the work is seek if we can have more people interested in this project.

The project will cover different areas: Health, Art, also community service because this will be open for the community, and for education."
